About

My Approach

In family law, it is important to be focused, energetic and resourceful in order to achieve the right result. It is also vital to appreciate the wider issues that drive human relationships.

I aim to achieve the best outcome for my clients and their children, while minimising upset, disruption and costs. Ideally a solution is found by means of negotiation. When this is not possible, I take court proceedings with commitment. I have dealt with cases at every level of court up to the Court of Appeal.

There are other forms of dispute resolution in family law, and I have strong connections with some excellent mediators and solicitors who are trained in the collaborative approach.

My Expertise

I have specialised in family law since 1993. My expertise includes divorce and separation and its financial consequences, pre-nuptial agreements, disputes in relation to children and cohabitation issues including property co-ownership.

Over the years I have accumulated a great deal of experience in cases that are complex or particularly sensitive.

I am a boutique family law practice. My career started at Gill Akaster in Devon and I moved to niche London practice Levison Meltzer Pigott in 2000. I set up my own firm in 2006. I’ve recently been joined by a very experienced solicitor consultant, Stephanie Wells.

My clients come from all walks of life, including the legal profession. I don’t advertise, and individuals are recommended to me by previous clients or other lawyers.
